New Dreams

December 19, 2017

A few days ago, I was challenged to write down one dream I need to let go of so a NEW dream budding with hope can grow within me.

I thought and thought about how I try to create new vision and forge new paths from old maps.  At one point in time, they were vibrant and lively paths, but they are no longer traveled.  I want to invest in a new “map” from a different source.

I wrote down this “dream” and chose to let go of it.  I like to do a tangible and physical action to symbolize the letting go process, so I headed to the shredder!  I listened to my “dream” be shredded away.  I felt freedom and joy.  The whole process made me laugh a bit, but ushered in a new sense of hope.

Now, my new dream can receive the nutrients in order to bud and grow.  I feel anticipation and expectancy.  I can sense new energetic ideas coming to help bring this dream to fruition.

I am thankful for the timing of this exercise as a NEW YEAR is around the corner!

Then I remembered a well-known verse:

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins.  For the old skins would burst from the pressure, spilling the wine and ruining the skins.  New wine is stored in new wineskins so that both are preserved.

 Matthew 9:17
