Wasteful Apprehension
Life constantly presents me with opportunities, events, circumstances, surprise challenges and new relationships. Some are planned and some spring upon me unexpected.
As life progresses, I am learning to respect and trust my intuition. My challenge has been walking alongside apprehension. The apprehension does not necessarily stop my choice or plan to move forward, but this companion steals my emotional energy and distracts me from living fully in the moment.
If I choose to cling to the apprehension, it affects my well-being, causing doubt and social comparison. Then I start to notice a difference in my behavior. Life’s opportunities are missed. If I choose to acknowledge this companion, but then walk away, I notice a sense of peace and confidence. I can present myself to the world as I am. Authenticity and truth become my new companions. I can use all my emotional resources to engage with others and live life with a capital “L”. To me, this is freedom.
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
